Student-Athletes Want More
October 25, 2011The NCAA Announces Auburn is Free
October 28, 2011Intercollegiate athletics has seen its share of volatility over the course of the last two years. Student-athletes are demanding a cut of the money generated by college sports, lawsuits are threatening to change the way the NCAA operates, and now Congress is getting involved again. On November 1, 2011, Congress is hosting a roundtable discussion moderated b ESPN’s Jeremy Schaap discussing a variety of topics. The roundtable discussion has been titled Hypocrisy or Hype? The Impacts of Back-Room Deals, Payoffs, and Scandals in American Collegiate Student Athletes. The panelists include professors, parents of student-athletes, activists, former student-athletes, agents, and a number of others. It should be interesting.
