April 27, 2012Former Grambling State University (“GSU”) and NFL quarterback and current GSU head football coach Doug Williams has filed suited against his alma mater and employer for breach of contract. According to media reports, Williams is owed $40,000.00 in bonuses for guiding GSU to a SWAC championship. At present, Williams and his staff have not been paid such bonuses. Williams indicated in court filings that GSU agreed to pay earned bonuses if he would sign a reduced new contract. The suit seeks both actual damages and punitive damages.
