July 29, 2013It would not be the first time lawmakers have taken aim at the NCAA and, specifically, the NCAA enforcement process. Representative Charlie W. Dent, a Republican from Pennsylvania, is looking into sponsoring a bill that would provide transparency, due process protections for coaches and student-athletes, and oversight of the NCAA’s judicial process. It is unclear whether Congress wants to take on the reformation of the NCAA infractions procedures especially in light of the new reform that will soon take effect. Is federal legislation the proper avenue?
