Armstead v. USC: Former Football Player Says He Received Improperly Administered Injections
September 6, 2012O’Bannon Takes It Up a Notch
September 6, 2012Various media organizations have requested the telephone records of former University of North Carolina head football coach Butch Davis and ultimately filed suit to obtain the requested records. Davis has refused to provide the records in order to protect the contact information of various friends and family. Recently, a judge ordered Davis to produce the records, within thirty days, that relate to university business. The judge stated “University officials and coaches may not use their personal cellphones to ‘dodge’ or evade the North Carolina Public Records law and may not avoid public scrutiny of their cellphone records by using their personal cellphones to conduct public business.” Davis, however, will be allowed to redact personal calls made on his personal cellphone that were not a part of university business.
