August 25, 2013Christian Dennie posted a blog entry on the firm’s Web site relating to the investigation of Johnny Manziel by the NCAA and analyzed an obscure Texas statute. The statute, codified in the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, provides a cause of action in favor of an institution of higher learning (in this case Texas A&M) against a “person” that violates NCAA rules and causes a student-athlete to be ineligible. Christian was the first to address this obscure statute. As a result, he was interviewed by numerous media outlets. Interviews discussing his analysis have been featured both in print and on the radio including articles in USA Today, Fox Sports, ESPN, the Fort Worth Star Telegram and many others.
