On October 19, 2010, Christian Dennie served as a panelist, along with sports and entertainment lawyer George Alfonoso and sports agent Jordan Woy, at an event hosted by the SMU Sports & Entertainment Law Association at SMU Dedman School of Law. Christian presented on the ethlcal standards associated with NCAA investigations and particularly relating to issues involving student-athletes and athlete-agents. In light of the growing number of assertions relating to athlete-agents paying student-athletes while enrolled at NCAA member institutions, the panel discussed the ramifications of providing payment to student-athletes based on state and NFLPA legislation and also the process by which a student-athlete must seek reinstatement to become eligible to compete in NCAA events.
