Will Congress Seek to Reform the NCAA Infractions Process?
July 29, 2013EA Sports Seeks to Get Out of O’Bannon v. NCAA
July 31, 2013Six current student-athletes have taken the plunge and joined the O’Bannon v. NCAA litigation. This comes shortly after the trial court allowed the plaintiffs to amend their pleadings by adding currently enrolled student-athletes, which increases the possibility that the amount of damages, if successful, could reach billions of dollars. The resilient six are Jake Fischer and Jake Smith of the University of Arizona, Chase Garnham of Vanderbilt University, Darius Robinson of Clemson University, and Moses Alipate and Victor Keise of the University of Minnesota. The trial court has not yet ruled on whether the class of current and former student-athletes will be certified.
